Glossier, the NYC-based beauty brand that cool girls all over the world can't get enough of (and brainchild of Into The Gloss's Emily Weiss), just added a new product to their already covetable line-up.
Introducing: the Milky Jelly Cleanser.
Full disclosure: The brand graciously sent it to me so I could try it out. Ever since they had announced it, I was anxiously waiting for my next Cali trip to stock up (unfortunately Glossier doesn't ship to Canada yet), so when they reached out, I screamed like a banshee. My neighbours would attest, but they've since vacated the premises, two facts that might or might not be related.
So I precautiously put the Milky Jelly Cleanser to the test on my insanely reactive skin, a skin so attention-whorish that you should only approach it with caution. Like a wild animal, or like me when I'm PMS-ing and there's a shortage of dark almond chocolate at the grocery store.
And let me tell you - it didn't disappoint. It took exactly ONE try out for me to consider never using any other cleanser ever again. I'm prone to exaggerating statements, but this one is honest to God (by which I mean Beyoncé).
Here are 5 reasons why Glossier's Milky Jelly Cleanser is the best cleanser for your skin:
#1: It cleans better than that Bioderma cleanser that beauty editors usually rave about. And I should know: it's been my preferred choice for years! At night, I usually use it to take my make-up off, then wash my face with a gentle Clinique foam to get rid of leftover residue. The Glossier cleanser erased any need for that second step: every night, the foam remains immaculately white (instead of that lovely shade of foundation-stained brown I'm used to) as it goes down the drain.
#2: It's tough on your skin, but soft on your eyes. It's actually made from the same stuff as contact lens solution! As a contact wearer with sensitive eyes, I wholeheartedly approve.
#3: The formula can be used either on wet or dry skin, so everyone's happy no matter what their preferences are on the subject. Being happy is a good thing. #prochoice #yeswhenitcomestocleanserstoo
#4: The pump keeps the formula away from your filthy, bacteria-covered little hands.
#5: My skin is both ultra-sensitive, combination (oily AND dry, yay!), and acne-prone. Yup, I hit the genetic lottery on this one. Glossier's Milky Jelly Cleanser manages to clean and moisturize it without making it greasy, dry, irritated or heavy. Which means that it should be perfect for just about everyone.
That ding-ding-ding you hear? It's the sound of success, my friends. If you're still on the lookout for the Holy Grail of cleansers, try it out, and let me know what you think!
